Quantity takes the number of hours and Rate takes your hourly rate. The line amount is calculated as quantity × rate using decimal arithmetic, so hour fractions like 7.5 or 0.25 are handled exactly — for example 7.5 hours at 80 = 600.
Add one line per day, week or project phase if you want a breakdown, or a single line for the whole period. Discounts and tax apply to the full invoice.
Decide how you round tracked time before you invoice — many freelancers bill in 15-minute increments (0.25 hours). Enter the hours exactly as agreed with your client and keep your time records for reference.
Hourly billing fits support, maintenance and open-ended work. For fixed-scope projects, a project rate is often clearer for the client. You can mix both on one invoice: one line for the project fee and another for extra hours.
