What a service invoice should show
- The service performed, described so the customer recognises the job
- Labour hours or a flat service rate as a separate line
- Parts or materials with quantities and unit prices
- The service date or period — add it to the description or notes
- Warranty or follow-up notes if you offer them
- Payment terms and how the customer can pay
Writing service descriptions customers understand
Write each line the way you would explain the job to the customer: “Replace kitchen faucet and reseal counter joint” is easier to approve than “plumbing work”. Clear descriptions reduce questions and speed up payment.
Tax and totals
You can apply a tax rate to the whole invoice, or set a different rate per line when some items are taxed differently. If your prices already include tax, switch the tax mode to inclusive — the generator extracts the tax amount and keeps the total unchanged.
